Monkey Man's birthday party

Pictures from munchkin man's first birthday party... He ate ALL of the cake that you will see later on here... and somehow did not throw up. I haven't got a clue where he put it all, but man he sure did love it! Enjoy the pictures, courtesy of my Dad.

Nightmares and swimming

Well, the munchkin had his first nightmare this weekend... talk about terrifying mommy! He woke up around 11 and was INCONSOLABLE! I went to change him, cause he was OUT when we got home, so I just put him down in his clothes, and when he would look over at his crib he would start screaming. It was this horrible bloodcurdling scream. When I picked him up he was literally trying to climb up my head to get out of the room. We had to take him downstairs just to get him dressed. It took him at least 2 hours to really calm down. That was the worst I have ever felt, because not only did I not really know what was going on, there wasn't a thing I could do about it.

Ah well... I suppose that it will be the first in a long line of firsts that are hard for mommy. (Well, I guess shots were the first, but this was the scariest)

We also went swimming this weekend, and mommy and daddy played with the new camera! I'll post some pics when I get home, I don't have them here with me! The monky man loves the water though! He doesn't like the floats -- he'd rather be free with us holding him, but he does like to swim. :-)

Hope you are having a great day!

More Photography Practice...

My photography class met early this week for our class to take pictures around town. Here are some pictures of small town America for you to enjoy! I had a blast taking pics this week, although it was somewhat difficult since I prefer portraits as opposed to landscapes.
The cross on the top of the steeple of the church where I got married.
Some random tree branches. I was playing with the depth of field on these two pics.

A street lamp and a sign for one of the businesses on the square.

An unusual perspective of one of the business signs here.

The front of our new courthouse.

Pretty self wxplanatory... But I was practicing using negative space.

More depth of field practice.

The steeple of the church where I got married.

Trying for that blurry look with adjusting the DOF.

Well, I hope you enjoy these pics. Critique me, please! I wanna know what I am doing that is good and what needs improvement!
